(News from Qingdao Daily) In the afternoon of February 9, the Qingdao spring festival tea party 2010, hosted by Municipal Party Committee and City government, was held at the conference center of Huanghai Hotel. People from all walks of life came together, greeted the Chinese new year and celebrated the festival. Standing commissioner of the CPC Shandong Committee and secretary of the CPC Qingdao Committee Yan Qijun presided over the tea party. The deputy secretary of CPC Qingdao Committee and mayor of Qingdao Xia Geng delivered a passionate speech there. Over 500 people from all walks of life attended the party: the top officials from the CPC Qingdao Committee, Qingdao People's Congress, Qingdao Municipality, CPPCC Qingdao Committee, and the Discipline Commission of the CPC Qingdao Committee, veteran municipal leaders, top officials from non-CPC parties, business associations, democrats without party affiliation; representatives of the Red Army, retired veteran cadres, model workers and model personnel; representatives from judiciary, science and technology, public health, arts, sports, news, education, trade, finance, municipal sanitation and religion; family members of martyrs, ex-soldiers, national minorities, returned overseas Chinese, relatives of overseas Chinese, and compatriots from Taiwan; the Chinese representatives of foreign-invested enterprises, private business representatives; top officials from the central, provincial level institutions in Qingdao, etc. On behalf of the CPC Qingdao Committee and Qingdao municipality, Xia Geng expressed the new year greeting to people from all walks of life. Xia Geng noted that the new year had started, and we were at the start of a new journey.
