Yesterday the first Partners Conference of Microsoft (China) Corporation Ltd. and Microsoft Cloud Computing Round-table Conference was held at Qingdao Shangri-La Hotel. Xia Geng, deputy secretary of the CPC Qingdao Committee and mayor of Qingdao, met with a Microsoft delegation led by Mr. Liang Nianxian, senior vice president of Microsoft Corporation and president and CEO of the Greater China Region. The two sides reached consensus on many cooperation issues.
At the first Partners Conference, Microsoft (China) Corporation Ltd. announced that it will incorporate Qingdao into its "City Expansion" program. In accordance with the program, Microsoft will further expand its input in Qingdao in 2011, and it will support and assist Qingdao's transformation into an innovation-based and knowledge-based economy through a series of cooperation with government and enterprises, cloud computing services in particular. Furthermore, Microsoft will introduce new technology by means of hosting solutions seminars, and help to improve the information technology competency of enterprises in Qingdao.
