Mid-year ?Online Government Consultation? to be initiated, 56 departments of Qingdao Municipal Government will interact with citizens online

2010-08-18

The mid-year ?Online Government Consultation? will start soon. This program is comprised of three phases: the preparation phase, the online consultation and exchange phase, and the implementation phase. The online exchange phase will take place from August 23 to 26. The 56 departments of the municipal government will be divided into 4 groups, and the 14 departments of each group will hold online exchanges and consultations with netizens every day from 19:30-21:00.

As an important part of the municipal government?s campaign of ?reporting to the citizens and listening to citizens? appeals and opinions,? the contents will include four aspects: receiving feedback on the implementation of the ?Online Government Consultation? at the beginning of year, reporting the work progress of the department, listening to the appeals of citizens, and taking action in accordance with the appeals of the citizens. Each department will disclose its key and difficult operations and issues to the public through websites like qingdao.gov.cn, and openly collect ?Golden Ideas? from citizens. Each department will study carefully the reasonable appeals, opinions, and recommendations of the citizens and take action accordingly. Good, feasible recommendations from the citizens which have high reference value will be included in the annual work plan or long-term plan of the government, while other issues raised by the citizens will be explained.

In order to ensure that the ?Online Government Consultation? program will achieve a practical effect, during the activity, the municipal government will organize an evaluation panel of scholars, deputies of Qingdao People?s Congress, members of the Qingdao Political Consultative Conference, and representatives of the citizens to supervise the online consultation activity. The result of the online government consultation activity will be included into the objective performance appraisal of each department of the Qingdao municipal government.
