The "LCD modules and LCD products" project invested by Taiwan company TPV Technology Limited and other companies laid the foundation stone today in High-tech Zones. The project is to expected to be in full production in 2012, which will make the city become the largest flat-panel TV production base. Provincial Standing Committee, Party secretary Yan Qijun, and municipal directors Wang Shujian, Zhang Hui, Wu ShuLing, Liu Wei and Xuan Jiansheng, TPV Technology CEO attended the ceremony. Municipal Standing Committee and executive vice mayor Wang Shujian congratulated on behalf of the municipal government to the project. He said that the entry of TPV Technology Group into High-tech Zone is a full recognition of Qingdao's investment environment, It will play a positive role in accelerating change in the mode of economic development and economic restructuring. The High-tech Zone will actively cooperate with the project construction and set TPV Group Qingdao Company as the benchmark for service priorities and efficiency. All departments concerned should actively support and promote the project to ensure that the project be completed as planned. It is understood that Taiwan's TPV Technology Group is the world's largest manufacturers of computer monitors. TPV Technology Qingdao Co., Ltd. has a first-stage investment of 90 million U.S. dollars, mainly engaged in the R & D and manufacturing of LCD monitors, LCD TVs, panel modules and other display products and related components. The project is to be put into operation next year. In two to three years, TPV Qingdao will reach a production capacity of six million LCD TVs and it will become the largest production site of TPV. By 2012, TPV Qingdao Company?s full production will enable the city LCD TV production capacity by exceeding 15 million units and become the nation's largest flat-panel TV production base.
