Major International Exchanges
In October 1979, Qingdao established its first sister-city relationship with the Japanese city of Shimonoseki. By the end of 2004, Qingdao had already established such relationships with 12 cities in 12 countries and friendly cooperative relationships with 29 cities out of 18 countries.
