July 1 — Under arrangements made by the CPC Qingdao Municipal Committee, members of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Committee — Cheng Dezhi, Ma Lixin, Chang Hongjun, Han Yaodong, Liu Changsong and Chen Chenghua — recently paid several visits to veteran CPC members as well as those facing financial hardship in Laixi, Shibei District, Jimo District, Shinan District, Qingdao West Coast New Area and Pingdu as part of an outreach program to extend the Party's care and support to them.

The CPC believes that its veteran members are a treasured asset to both the Party and the country that their experiences of witnessing, participating in and contributing to the Party's century-long journey remain invaluable. During the visits, the officials spoke to the veterans, listened to their experiences as Party members and thanked them for their contributions to the country's development. They wished them good health and encouraged them to continue contributing their experience and strength so as to preserve and ensure the continuity of Party's revolutionary traditions. The officials also urged relevant departments to provide attentive and dedicated support for these veteran CPC members to make sure that the CPC’s concern for its members is translated into tangible assistance so they can enjoy a secure and fulfilling retirement.

At the homes of CPC members who were facing financial hardship, the officials expressed their concerns about the members’ health and family circumstances and encouraged them to remain confident and maintain a positive outlook. They urged them to work towards a better life with the support of Party committees and governments at all levels. The officials also called on relevant departments and district- and county-level authorities to fully implement assistance policies, strengthen support services to help alleviate practical difficulties and improve living conditions of these members so that the care and warmth of the CPC and the government would reach those who need them most.
