“Export to China · SCO Premium Choice” Import Procurement Matchmaking Event Opens in Qingdao on March 30
Qingdao Government | MARCH 30,2026

The Shandong Provincial Department of Commerce announced the imminent launch of an import procurement matchmaking event under the “Export to China · SCO Premium Choice” initiative from March 30 to 31 at the SCO Pearl International Expo Center in Qingdao. Framed around the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) as a connector, Shandong as the main platform, and the Silk Road as the pathway, the event aims to build a targeted trade bridge linking the province with SCO member states.

A total of 107 overseas companies have pledged their attendance, with more than 500 foreign firms affirming their interest through online registration. 202 local private enterprises have applied to take part to represent the Chinese side with real-time supply and demand matching having generating 500 preliminary cooperation intentions as of March 27. All 120 export requests from 88 foreign enterprises have been matched with precision to cover a range of categories including specialty agricultural products, high-quality minerals and light industrial goods from SCO countries. Participants include Kazakhstan’s GRATA International GLF Law Firm Ltd and Mongolia’s Grassland Sentiment Co., Ltd., which are presenting featured products and import demand for the Chinese market. Companies from Russia and Oman are also bringing premium resources to highlight strong momentum for deeper trade cooperation between SCO countries and China.

On the other hand, procurement requests for Chinese-based private enterprises have also been fully matched. Up to 202 participating domestic companies from cities including Beijing, Ordos and Harbin have submitted 380 import requests, all of which have completed initial matching, to span across industries and sectors such as high-end manufacturing, trade and distribution, and biopharmaceuticals. As host province, Shandong has brought together 182 companies from cities including Jinan, Qingdao, Yantai and Linyi to make up a comprehensive multi-tiered procurement network to provide strong support for sourcing specialty products from SCO countries and improve the quality and efficiency of two-way trade.

The event features a high-level, broad and representative lineup of participants beyond the strong matchmaking results to underscoring its value to facilitate business cooperation. Around 200 international guests from 17 SCO countries are expected to be present alongside roughly 200 domestic participants including enterprises, e-commerce platforms and industry association leaders to create a vibrant and dynamic two-way engagement framework.

The “Export to China · SCO Premium Choice” matchmaking event represents a key component of the Ministry of Commerce’s “Big Market For All · Export to China” campaign as a concrete step by Shandong to deepen its integration into the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and expand local economic and trade cooperation within the SCO while leveraging its role as a frontier of China’s opening-up to align national strategy with local commercial practice.
