Workers are busy at their posts at the construction site of an AgriTech demonstration park building project in Pingdu, tentatively referred to as “Weigu Demonstration Park”, or “Taste Valley Demonstration Park” in English. All seven main buildings have now topped out with work moving into the curtain wall, mechanical and electrical installation, and interior finishing stages.
Located in Liyuan Subdistrict of Pingdu, the project has a planned gross floor area of about 68,200 square metres, including a 19-storey commercial office building, a 3-storey exhibition centre, a 3-storey e-commerce centre, and 3-storey innovation and incubator office buildings.
The project aims to build an integrated condiments industry ecosystem combining headquarters functions, innovation and R&D, smart manufacturing, platform-based sales, and upstream and downstream linkages where it will be expected to become a new growth engine for Pingdu’s condiments industry and support the development of a local specialty industrial cluster once completed, in addition to promoting the sector’s healthy regional growth. This development is also seen as a key step in Qingdao’s agricultural modernisation drive for the purpose of encouraging the city’s agricultural industry toward higher quality and more advanced development.
