An innovation park for the fashion accessories industry between China, Japan, and South Korea was officially opened in Chengyang District in Qingdao.
More than 50 merchants have already moved into the innovation park, which aims to integrate resources and connect online and offline channels for product display and sales. The Mili Aolai China's Popular Jewelry E-Commerce Base also began operations at the opening. "Qingdao has secured a foothold in the national market through original designs and vintage accessories, and Chengyang is where the city's best accessories are made. All merchants in the park are manufacturers targeting mainly wholesale buyers, though we also cater to retail and custom orders,“ said General Manager of the Mili Aolai China's Popular Jewelry E-Commerce Base Zhou Meijia, "We also plan to build shared livestream studios to attract influencers from across the country where livestreamers can source products directly from the market with zero entry barriers. Once they've chosen the items to promote, we (the merchants) will handle shipping and customer service."
After nearly 30 years of growth, Chengyang's fashion accessories industry now employs over 150,000 people and includes more than 2,000 enterprises—around 300 of them South Korean, with a developed industrial chain complete with R&D, design, production, and sales. The new innovation park aims to turn the complementary strengths of Chinese, Japanese, and South Korean accessory industries into a driving force for innovation, introducing advanced design concepts and technologies to promote cluster development in the wider beauty and fashion sectors.
