Resembling a colossal UFO nestled in the mountains, the Qingdao Virtual Reality Creation and Enjoyment Center seems poised to take flight with all construction work wrapping up as the project now enters its final inspection phase.
The Qingdao Virtual Reality Creation and Enjoyment Center located in Laoshan District—east of Keyuan Jingliu Road, north of Xinhong Road, and south of Keyuan Weisi Road—serves as the core project within the supporting zone of the Qingdao Virtual Reality Industrial Park. With a planned construction area of approximately 104,500 square meters, the project focuses on building new infrastructure, smart manufacturing, and high-end equipment production facilities, including a virtual reality center, an office block, a training base, and a VR-themed plaza—all designed to create a multi-functional hub for VR experiences, exhibitions, conferences, education, and public services. Since the start of construction, the project has progressed rapidly with the first foundation slab poured in just 36 days, the initial steel structure lifted within 42 days, and the main steel truss installed within 72 days. The entire steel structure was topped off in less than six months.
