On the morning of May 22, 2023, the ceremony for track laying accomplishment of the first phase of Qingdao Metro Line 6 was held in the track laying base of Xintun Road Station. Zhang Jiangang, commander-in-chief of Qingdao Municipal Metro Engineering Construction Command and deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People’s Congress of Qingdao, announced that the track laying of the first phase of Metro Line 6 had been fully accomplished. At present, the first phase of Line 6 project has entered the full construction stage of behind station works, mechanical and electrical installations, power supply and decoration works have been fully mobilized to the site. According to the plan, the empty-load trial operation will be carried out by the end of this year and the first phase of Line 6 will be put into service in 2024.
Qingdao Metro Line 6 is a main line of large capacity crossing Qingdao West Coast New Area. The first phase starts from Xintun Road Station and ends at Ecological Park Station with a total length of 30.8km. To realize the node target of full accomplishment of track laying as scheduled, 1400 persons simultaneously executed the works on 14 working platforms in the peak season.
The first phase of Line 6 crosses hospitals, schools and residential areas with a dense population on the ground. According to this characteristic and different operating environment, the line adopts up to 7 types of anti-vibration track beds so that the TACS trains can run “silently” under the ground of the city to minimize the impact of metro operation. It’s known that the first phase of Line 6 has diversified anti-vibration types, complex forms of track beds and frequent shifting of processes, which is rare in the field of metro construction in China, and the multilevel anti-vibration track beds are also the first wide application in metro in Shandong Province.
