Qingdao COVID-19 Epidemic Prevention and Control Headquarters convenes a themed meeting on prevention and control of imported case from other countries on March 17, 2020 to listen to relevant reports of the city and arrange work of the next stage. Wang Qingxian, Party chief of Qingdao and Commander-in-chief of Qingdao COVID-19 Epidemic Prevention and Control Headquarters chaired the meeting and delivered a speech. Meng Fanli, mayor of Qingdao and Commander-in-chief of Qingdao COVID-19 Epidemic Prevention and Control Headquarters, attended the meeting.

The meeting pointed out that at present, the COVID-19 epidemic spread rapidly abroad, and the risk of overseas epidemic import in the city is further increased. The departments and units at all levels in the city must earnestly implement President Xi Jinping's instructions, and strictly follow the arrangements and requirements of the Party Central Committee, the State Council, the Provincial Party Committee, and the Provincial Government to continuously improve various prevention and control measures, and curb the cross-border spread of the epidemic. It is necessary to continuously refine and optimize the work process and further strengthen coordination and cooperation among customs, border inspection, and airport to ensure the implementation of various work measures. The epidemic prevention and control work plan, organizing system and operation mechanism will be changed in accordance with the changing situation of epidemic and at the same time, the joint response at Qingdao, Yantai and Weihai shall be advanced to stem the spread of the virus.

14-day quarantine must be strictly carried out to all inbound travellers from other countries and regions and the meeting also made arrangement over the work flow of the Beijing-bound international travellers who would stop for health checks at Qingdao Airport first before they fly to Beijing. We shall carry out foreign aid and international cooperation and further strengthen international friendship in the combat against COVID-19 of the mankind.
