Wang Qingxian, Party chief of Qingdao, visited Qingdao Customs and Shandong Ports Group on March 13, 2020 to inspect the epidemic prevention and control and the economic and social development.
He emphasized that the realization of the opening and development blueprint that President Xi Jinping drew for Qingdao and the high quality development led by opening and innovation is inseparable with the great support of Qingdao Customs and Shandong Ports Group. He expected that all the parties could master the important national strategic opportunity, intensify the study and planning, develop the deep cooperation and implement the important instruction of Mr. Xi Jinping so as to jointly create a new platform for international cooperation under the “Belt and Road Initiative” and to form new advantages of opening and development of Qingdao.
Wang Qingxian first visited the monitoring and command center of Qingdao Customs. He indicated that since the epidemic outbreak, Qingdao government has implemented all prevention and control work in order and the epidemic prevention and control situation in Qingdao is generally stable, but the pressure of preventing the epidemic input from overseas is increasing. The airport is the first pass, so he expected that everyone keeps the combat condition, sticks to the frontline of prevention and control, avoids numbness, weariness and loosening and reinforces information share and joint prevention and control in order to seriously implement all prevention and control measures and to win this tough combat.
In Shandong Ports Group, Wang Qingxian looked into the progress of the construction of Qingdao International Cruise Home-port. In the following meeting, Mr. Huo Gaoyuan, Party Secretary and Chairman of the board of the group and Mr. Li Fengli, Deputy Party Secretary and General Manager introduced their work. Wang Qingxian indicated that, since its inauguration, Shandong Ports Group has been showing a good development trend with the stable improvement of its comprehensive strength and the continuous increase of its platform effect and it has injected new power to the economic and social development of Shandong Province.
Wang Qingxian emphasized that, at present, multiple national strategies such as SCO pilot zone, Qingdao division of Shandong Free Trade Pilot Zone, ecologic protection and quality development of Yellow River basin are implemented in Qingdao and all closely related to the port. We should develop the portal advantages of Qingdao, push bilateral and multilateral economic and trade exchange and cooperation with SCO member countries and the countries along the Belt and Road, gather more people, materials, funds and information in Qingdao and contribute to the quality development of Yellow River basin with higher opening level. Qingdao government will keep optimizing its service and actively support the development of Shandong Ports Group to realize the interaction of resources and the win-win cooperation.
